Hallo!

Wann genau verwende ich Spearman und wann Gamma? Beide werden u.a. bei ordinal Daten verwendet. In meinen Unterlagen steht, dass Spearman bei vielen und Gamma bei wenigen Ausprägungen verwendet wird. Was sind viele und was wenige?

Bei welchen Verfahren entsteht denn dieses Gamma? Ich kann nach Spearman googlen aber nicht nach Gamma.

Gamma ist ein Zusammenhangsmaß des Chi2 Tests.

Goodman & Kruskal's Gamma ist ein Korrelationsmaß für ordinale Variablen.
Die Chi²-Statistik hat damit nichts zu tun, die ist für kategoriale Variablen.

Ich habe das nicht vollständig gelesen, aber die Abbildungen ab Seite 15 und die Zusammenfassung sind ganz hilfreich:

As can be seen from Figure 1a for Table dimension 3x3 and 4x4 Gamma ordinal
measure of association presents closer estimate of the degree of association which
is expected to be 0.5 in comparison with the other ordinal measures. However it
can be concluded from the same figure that Pearson’s correlation and Spearman’s
rank correlation presents a good estimate of the actual degree of association as
table dimension increases
